Cylinder liner is one of the important parts of engine. The quality of cylinder liner directly affects the safety and energy consumption of engine. Most of the dimensional inspection of cylinder liner has been automated, but the surface defect inspection is still carried out by a large number of personnel. In recent years, researchers began to use image detection technology for surface defect detection, but the detection effect is still not widely used in industry. In this paper, it studies the burr cylinder liner, which is also a kind of difficult in the surface inspection of cylinder liner. The surface defects of the cylinder liner, such as pit, slag inclusion, residue, coarse burr, sparse burr. This paper mainly studies the surface defect detection of cylinder liner based on 3D vision. Experiments show that this method successfully realizes the automatic surface detection of cylinder liner, and is applied in the industrial field.
