In article number 2000761, Matthias P. Lutolf, Saba Rezakhani, and Nikolce Gjorevski present synthetic hydrogels, which promote the development of patterned mouse and human intestinal organoids, the latter in the absence of animal-derived components. These chemically defined gels can be used as a replacement for undefined matrices to accelerate the clinical translation of organoids.
