ABSTR ACTinhibitory effect on the induction of inflammation by staphylococci.Moreover, the in vivo experiment with a mouse model of AD, significant improvements of AD symptoms and trans epidermal water loss (TEWL) were found in the ozone water treatment group.Local immune reactions are also regulated by the ozone water application.Our findings strongly suggest that topical treatment with ozone water significantly improved AD symptoms through an antibacterial effect towards staphylococci.(II) In the in vitro setting, ozone water showed the bactericidal effects on P. gulae.The inhibitory effects on the induction of inflammation by P. gulae were shown because the secretions of IL-1β and TNF-α, which activate osteoclasts and ultimately promote bone resorption in the oral cavity, was significantly inhibited by pre-treatment with ozone water in P. gulae infected human gingival epithelial cells.Currently we are investigating the in vivo preventive and therapeutic effects of ozone water on periodontal disease.Considering these, ozone water can be variable antimicrobial tools for canine common infections such as pyoderma and AD, and periodontal disease.
