On the characteristic length scale for correlating melting heat transfer data

An attempt has been made to correlate melt fraction vs. dimensionless time data for melting from a vertical wall. Several correlations were attempted with little success in collapsing the data. It is concluded that the height of the phase change material is not appropriate as length scale in the governing dimensionless parameters.
