Microrna-221-3P alters human adipocyte lipid storage by regulating glucose and lipid metabolism

Background and Aims: Micro-RNA 221 (miR-221) is associated with obesity, insulin resistance and cardiovascular diseases. Obesity is often characterized by adipose tissue dysfunction and inflammation and is a risk factor for type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, cancer and more. In this study we aimed to analyze the function of miR-221 in adipocyte metabolism.
