How teams meet deadlines: Towards team time management How teams meet deadlines: Towards team time management This article provides an overview of scientific knowledge on how teams meet their deadlines. The available evidence indicates that teams are more likely to meet deadlines when members not only share a common perspective on the team and the task, but also on the temporal aspects of task performance. In addition, attention to time in performance preparation, execution, monitoring and adaptation is crucial for establishing shared temporal cognitions and synchronized action in teams. These insights constitute a first step towards team time management theory and an accompanying research agenda to further its theoretical development and practical application.
