Synchronizing cavity-configuration-dependent chaos in a solid-state laser system was investigated using a unidirectionally coupled scheme. A low coupling strength is enough to achieve spatial and temporal chaos synchronization, according to numerical simulations. The characteristics of nonidentical synchronization are obtained by changing three parameters—the pump power, the reflectivity of the output coupler and the radius of the curvature of the output coupler. A method for the propagation of errors is presented to estimate the characteristics of simultaneously varied multiple parameters. Chaos synchronization in plano-concave Nd:YVO4 lasers is experimentally observed.
