Abstract The thermogravimetric picture of hydrated ordinary portland cement includes up to seven separate reactions. These include five dehydration reactions, a dehydroxylation reaction, and a decarbonation reaction. The five dehydration reactions represent the loss of free pore water from two different pore groups and three types of structural waters related to calcium silicate hydrates.
