摘要
Rare earth tantalates RETaO4 ceramics are studied as potential thermal barrier coatings (TBCs), based on their ferroelastic toughness and good thermomechanical properties. In this work, we study the properties of RETaO4 ceramics, and the property optimization of Yb(TaxNb1 − x)O4 is investigated. The above results prove that these series ceramics are promising TBCs, and they motivate the following researches of rare earth tantalates as high-temperature structural materials.
