摘要
The cover image depicts the molecular events taking place in a microfluidic chip designed for native and top-down (TD) mass spectrometry (MS) analysis of intact proteins and protein complexes. Having been separated from other components in the separation module, the antigen molecules bind the separately infused monoclonal antibody molecules in a mixing channel that comprises herringbone-like micro structures. The processed analytes are then efficiently ionized through electrospray for the online MS analysis. X. Shao, Y. Huang and G. Wang reviewed the unique features, design and fabrication methods, and recent applications of microchips developed for TD-MS.
