Smoking, alcohol, and coffee consumption and pregnancy loss: a Mendelian randomization investigation

To the Editor: (This work aims to implement the knowledge between the risk of abortions and factors such as coffee.) We have read with great interest the article entitled “Smoking, alcohol and coffee consumption and pregnancy loss: a Mendelian randomization investigation” by Yuan et al. (1), published in the journal “Fertility and Sterility.” This article is an evident example of the importance of care regarding the consumption of certain substances during pregnancy, displaying evidence of an association between smoking and an increased risk of pregnancy loss.
