A facile and green chemical approach for the preparation of SnO2 nanoparticles from thermal treatment of dibutyltin complex

摘要
Schiff base and its organotin complex was synthesized by a facile conventional method of refluxing. Synthesized complexes were characterized using Fourier transformation Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) and 1H Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopy. Tin oxide nanoparticles were obtained by a simple thermal treatment of dibutyl complex at 450° C for 3 hrs. in a muffle furnace. Obtained nanoparticles were characterized by X-ray Diffraction (XRD), FTIR and UV-Visible spectroscopy. SnO2 nanoparticles were pure and crystalline with particle size 25 nm. Rutile tetragonal single phase was confirmed from the XRD pattern. Band gap was calculated from plotted Tauc plot was 3.5 eV.
