This chapter focuses on one-dimensional (1D) piezoelectric and ferroelectric fibrous nanomaterials. Piezoelectric materials are a very interesting class of materials because they can transform mechanical energy into electrical energy and vice versa, and they are one of the forerunners to provide a solution for sustainable energy. Considerable research is ongoing on energy harvesters and nanogenerators using piezoelectric materials, but other applications, such as high-energy-density storage and structural health monitoring, are also interesting applications for this kind of material. In this chapter an overview of different piezoelectric materials and the importance of their morphology as 1D nanostructures are covered. Along with that, some of the important fabrication techniques, characterization methods, and some applications of these 1D nanostructures are discussed.
