Abstract Three novel eugenol disaccharides have been isolated from a methanolic extract of rose flowers using multilayer coil countercurrent chromatography. Their structures were unambiguously determined by two-dimensional NMR techniques (HSQC, HMBC, H-H-COSY, TOCSY, NOESY) as eugenyl-β-xylopyranosyl-(1→6)-β-glucopyranoside 1, eugenyl-α-L-arabinopyranosyl-(1→6)-β-D-glucopyranoside 2 and eugenyl-α-L-arabinofuranosyl-(1→6)-β-D-glucopyranoside aroma precursors, flowers, Rosa damascena Mill.
