Abstract Two new 3D coordination polymers, [Co 6 (μ 3 ‐OH) 2 (ipa) 5 (H 2 O) 5 ] · 8H 2 O ( 1 ) and [Co 2 (ipa) 2 (iPrOH) 0.5 (H 2 O) 0.5 ] · ( i PrOH) 0.5 (H 2 O) ( 2 ) (H 2 ipa = isophthalic acid, i PrOH = 2‐propanol), were synthesized by solvothermal reactions of Co(OAc) 2 and H 2 ipa in methanol and i PrOH, respectively. Compound 1 is a cluster‐based 3D porous framework with Co 6 nodes and ipa 2– linkers. Compound 2 is a chain‐based framework composed of Co II 4 1 helical Δ chains cross‐linked by ipa 2– ligands with one‐dimensional channels in the c direction. Both 1 and 2 show spin‐canting behavior for the antiferromagnetic triangular geometry and weak long‐range ordering for the existence of guest molecules.
