Matrix metalloproteinase-8 (MMP8) modulates M2 macrophage polarization and molecular mechanisms involved

Objective: Macrophage (Mɸ) polarization has huge implications in various diseases including cardiovascular diseases, and our works as well as others have firmly suggested an important role of MMP8 in atherosclerosis. However, little is known about the functional involvements of MMP8 in Mɸ polarization. In this study, we aimed to investigate the functional role of MMP8 in M2 Mɸ polarization.
