摘要
Two visualization experiments are conducted on the cooling of water in a cylindrical vessel by a cooling surface rotating on the liquid surface. One is flow visualization by means of the tracer method and the other is heat flow visualization using an encapsuled, thermo-sensitive liquid crystal. The flow field is illuminated by a laser sheet in both experiments. The rotating speed of the cooling surface is varied to determine the effects of rotation on both the diffusion of cooled water and the development of cold thermal plume. It is concluded that the rotation of cooling surface is the most efficient way in dissipation a cold-temperature region throughout the entire cylindrical vessel.
