Research on MRP Mediated Multi-drug Resistance in Gastric Carcinoma SGC-7901/ADR Cells by Combination of Modern Medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine

Objective: To investigate the effects of combination of modern medicine and traditional Chinese medicine on MRP mediated multi-drug resistance in gastric carcinoma SGC-7901/ADR cells.Methods: The SGC-7901/ADR cells were regarded as target cells,no medicine added group were considered as negative control,5-FU,Banzhen-1,Banzhen-1+5-FU,Banzhen-1+5-FU+TMP,were added to the target cells,respectively,and were considered as experimental groups.The expression of MRP mRNA in the SGC-7901/ADR cells was detected by the semi-quantitative RT-PCR.Results: No significant difference in the expression of MRP mRNA was detected between the 5-FU group and the negative controls(P0.05),suggesting MRP was involved in 5-FU resistance in SGC-7901/ADR cells.However,the significant difference in the expression of MRP mRNA was seen between the other experimental groups and the negative controls,as well as among the different experimental groups(P﹤0.01).The expression in the group of Banzhen-1+5-FU+TMP was the lowest(only 0.07).Conclusion: The combination of modern medicine and traditional Chinese medicine could overcome the problem of MRP mediated multi-drug resistance in gastric carcinoma SGC-7901/ADR cells,which might supply a new theoretical basis for the treatment of gastric cancer.
