Objective To assay the effect of hepatic stimulator substance (HSS) on the expression of EGFR/DNA of human hepatoma cells. Methods Bivariated cellular immunofluorescence technique was used for study. Results HSS decreased the expression of DNA. With the time course, the extent of decrease of DNA was improved. There was a significant difference between the expression of control group and experimental group after 24 h (P 0.05). HSS decreased the expression of EGFR promptly, and a significant difference was observed after 12 h (P0.05). Conclusion The expression change of EGFR is probably one of the mechanisms of the effect of HSS on the growth of hepatoma cells.
