A Slot Coupled Parasitic DRA Antenna using EBG wall for high Gain used for radio astronmy and space to earth applications

A Slot Coupled parasitic DRA antenna using EBG wall is designed for defense and point to point communication applications are shown in this article. The proposed structure having Source DRA along with Four Parasitic DRA’s are aligned. The source DRA is fed with an input slot coupled and which is kept on ground plane which is of infinity. The parasitic DRA’s were placed on material as a substrate with 4.4 as permittivity, tangential of 0.002 with a height of 0.381mm and a size of 21×21 mm2. The source DRA and parasitic elements are with a height of 6 mm using material Ecco stock dielectric (HIK) with relative permittivity 10 and loss tangent 0.003, radius 1.5mm are placed on a ground plane. According to the simulation results done in HFSS, the proposed antenna has operating in the frequency 36.7 GHz, 40.6GHz and 41.4GHz with good impedance matching -36.70, -25.23 with minimum bandwidth 3.5 dB and a gain of 8 dB by keeping EBG wall parametric optimized height of 0.5mm in center to the parasitic DRA’s it is having good directivity for the final proposed antenna.
