A Case History of Change: A Review of Responses to the Challenge of Sex Bias in Career Interest Inventories

The publishers of 11 popular interest inventories were surveyed for steps taken or planned to eliminate sex bias from their instruments. A number of changes have been made and research has been undertaken to determine the best way to handle the still unresolved technical problems. It is concluded that a concern first formulated at the level of popular opinion has been translated into professional action, public policy, and actual observable change.
