Co–N co-doped biochar synergistically activated PMS for high-efficiency degradation of NOR. Graphitic N and pyridinic N co-promoted the non-radical mechanisms, including direct electron transfer, 1 O 2 , and high-valent cobalt-oxo (Co IV O) species.
