Fluxgate sensors are widely used in the field of low-frequency weak magnetic field measurement because of their advantages in resolution, power consumption, and other performance parameters and can directly measure vector magnetic fields. With the development of the times, the original fluxgate sensors are far from meeting the needs. There is still much space for optimization in terms of digital design, core material selection, multi-component and its correction. This article mainly introduces the typical soft magnetic materials that are currently used as magnetic core materials for fluxgate sensors and the comparison of various material parameter characteristics and physical properties. And set up the core material Jiles-Atherton experience model on COMSOL Multiphysics to simulate and compare the main crystalline and amorphous materials. Finally, from the comparison of the coercive force of the hysteresis loops of various materials, it is concluded that Co-based amorphous alloy materials are more suitable for use as a new magnetic material for magnetic flux gates.
