Charlotte Coles: collaborating to tackle breast cancer inequities

"There are a lot of current misconceptions that breast cancer is solved, and it isn't", says Charlotte Coles, Professor of Breast Cancer Clinical Oncology and Deputy Head of the Department of Oncology at the University of Cambridge, UK. For instance, "many groups with breast cancer are being systematically left behind and forgotten. And this is wrong and a mistake because people with breast cancer are indispensable to our socioeconomical fabric and culture. We should not leave them behind or forget them", says Coles, who is the Chair of the Lancet Breast Cancer Commission.
