Glutathione (GSH) as an antioxidant greatly attenuates the reactive oxygen species (ROS) treatment strategy based on peroxidase-activity nanozymes. Therefore, nanozymes with multiple properties that generate ROS and further GSH-depletion functions would be of great benefit to improve antimicrobial efficacy. Herein, focusing on the green, safe and abundant functional prospects of metal-phenolic networks (MPNs) and the strong prospect of biomedical applications, we have synthesized copper tannic acid (CuTA) nanozymes with dual functional properties similar to peroxidase-like activity and GSH depletion.
