Parkinson's disease (PD) is a neurodegenerative disorder characterized by a progressive loss of nigrostriatal dopaminergic neurons. Inhibitors of monoamine oxidase B (MAO-B) have shown promise in alleviating motor symptoms and reducing oxidative stress associated with PD.
