In the present work, Er3+ doped Sr3LiSbO6 ceramics phosphors have been synthesized by the solid-state method. Crystal structure and phase formation were analyzed from XRD and Rietveld refinement of the XRD data. FESEM, EDX, HRTEM and elemental mapping techniques were employed to analyze the surface morphology and elemental configuration of the phosphor. Binding energy and oxidation states were analyzed by XPS measurements. Raman spectra exhibit the characteristic vibrational band associated with the host lattice and dopant ion. The optical band gap of the reported material was estimated from UV–Vis diffuse reflection study. Photoluminescence up conversion (UC) and down conversion (DC) characteristics of the prepared phosphors have been studied based on excitation and emission spectra. The average decay time of the excited state of all samples has been determined from the exponential fitting results of the decay curves obtained from PL at 378 nm and 547 nm of excitation and emission wavelengths respectively. Power-dependent PL UC measurement was executed under the laser excitation of 980 nm. The obtained characteristics of the prepared sample recommend that the proposed phosphor can be a promising material for green component of LEDs or solar spectral conversion agents in solar cell applications.
