Airway and bleeding complications of transoral robotic supraglottic laryngectomy (TORS-SGL): A systematic review and meta-analysis

• The overall major and minor bleeding rates following TORS-SGL are 2.28% (95% CI = 0.80–4.24%) and 0.15% (95% CI = 0–1.15). • Most hemorrhages were managed by transoral clipping of the superior laryngeal arteries. • Tracheostomy was required to manage hemorrhage in 0.40%. • The overall airway complication rate was 4.92% (95% CI = 2.83%-7.40%). • The emergent unplanned tracheostomy rate was 3.38%. • The overall perioperative mortality rate due to these complications of TORS-SGL is 0.60%.
