Today, magnetometers are sensors used to measure magnetic field strength and detect magnetic north direction. Magnetometer sensors cannot be used directly as magnetic compass due to errors caused by the nature of the sensor, assembly errors and environmental effects. In order to use magnetometer sensors as magnetic compass, the calibration algorithm of the magnetometer sensor has been developed and errors in the measurement must be eliminated. In order for the developed magnetometer calibration algorithm to work on microprocessors with limited memory, ram and processing capacity, the calibration algorithm has been developed. In addition to that, the effect of the data collection scenarios used to create the calibration coefficients on the calibration result has been examined. In this context, data sets were created for different scenarios, angle values were calculated by simulation and experimentally. In simulation and experimental studies, it was seen that the differences in angle values between different scenarios were below 1 degree.
