摘要
When the material deforms elastically or plastically, residual stresses introduced within the material. We know that not a single material, manufactured and treated parts, and structures are free from residual stress. This residual stress has beneficial and hurtful effects on the behaviour of the material. All the machined and treated parts have to be designed and assembled with sufficient reliability. While calculating the correct dimensions of assembly parts, we must think of local stresses and residual stress to obtain reliable and safe working conditions. This paper emphasizes a study's findings to review the residual stress measurement's current progress using non-destructive testing. Researchers have used many specific methods over the years; these methods have also been used in real-life problems, thereby developing analogous and scientific methodologies. These scientific methodologies have emphasized quality measurement techniques and helped develop technical programs for avoiding product failures in industries. The recent findings, measurement problems, instrumentation used, and future work explained in this paper.
