摘要
Biocatalytic asymmetric hydrogenations make a valuable contribution toward the development of cost-effective and sustainable solutions for enantiopure fine chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and agrochemicals production. Flavoprotein-dependent ene-reductases account for almost the entire known field of biohydrogenations. This is due to their acceptance of a wide range of compound scaffolds, multiple activating group moieties, and the often-high stereo- and enantiospecificity of the products. Successful integration of flavoprotein reductase-catalyzed reactions within organic syntheses could lead to improvements in product yield and/or enantiopurity, and contribute to the global emphasis on developing green, sustainable, and cost-effective processes.
