Carbon dioxide is veritably one of the products from human metabolism that can conversely switch to lethal levels at higher concentrations. Being one of the significant long-living greenhouse gas in the atmosphere, it substantiates to be analyzed for risks. The discourse of risk assessment and risk management evidently circles around carbon capture and storage (CCS). Hence, this chapter presents a sketch of exemplary risk assessment as well as consequent risk management modeling tools utilized in handling carbon dioxide. The purpose of this chapter is to present a lucid perspective of CO2. Furthermore, this chapter entails the critical evaluation of the effect of carbon dioxide toxicity on humans as well as the environment. The chapter presents an overview of some of the risk assessment methods such as the Bow-tie, DIPSR, FTA, etc. The overall aim of this chapter is to demonstrate the possible risk associated with carbon dioxide release and how the risks are managed.
