摘要
Self-regulated learning and performance refers to the processes whereby learners personally
activate and sustain cognitions, affects, and behaviors that are systematically oriented toward the
attainment of personal goals. By setting personal goals, learners create self-oriented feedback
loops through which they can monitor their effectiveness and adapt their functioning. Because
self-regulated persons must be proactive in order to set goals and engage in a self-regulatory
cycle, supportive motivational beliefs are also essential. Contrary to conventional wisdom, selfregulation is not defi ned as an individualized form of learning because it also includes selfinitiated forms of social learning, such as seeking help from peers, coaches, and teachers.
