摘要
The progressive advancements in lighting technology progressively lead to the narrowing of the traditional light sources into a compact size. The phosphor-converted near-infrared light-emitting diode (pc-NIR LED) is the alternative infrared light source for upcoming modern devices for various applications that include NIR spectroscopy, night vision goggles, plant growth, anti-counterfeiting, and so on. In this chapter, the potential activators and host systems for both NIR and mid-infrared emission are discussed. Particularly, the working principle of pc-NIR LED in the abovementioned applications is discussed with the current research progress and future opportunities.
