Few-nm-sized, phase-pure Au5Sn intermetallic nanoparticles: synthesis and characterization

Few-nm-sized, phase-pure Au₅Sn intermetallic nanoparticles (IMNPs) were synthesized by co-reduction of Au³⁺ and Sn²⁺ precursors with the ratio of 6 : 4 in the presence of oleylamine. Optical and catalytic properties of the Au₅Sn IMNPs were compared to those of pure Au NPs.
