摘要
Abstract The two phase mononitration of toluene, as an example of liquid—liquid reactions, has been studied in a continuous impinging streams reactor (CISR). The extent of reaction under different experimental conditions has been determined. A comparison has been made between the performance capability of the CISR and that of the continuous stirred tank reactor (CSTR). Under identical conditions, including mean residence time, temperature, feed compositions and phase ratio, the CISR has shown a higher efficiency. Finally, a stochastic model, based on Markov processes, has been developed for the reaction system which describes the flow pattern and the residence time distribution (RTD) in the reactor.
