Transition metal ions are known to form a number of coordination complexes. These complexes are well known because of types of bonding involved, number of oxidation states of their central metal ions, and different geometrical structures. Transition metal complexes are also found to exhibit various photophysical and photochemical properties and these are used as solar cell constituents, solar energy convertors, photocatalyst, photoswitches, etc. The present chapter deals with synthesis, and applications of such coordination complexes of elements of sixth group: chromium (Cr), molybdenum (Mo) and tungsten (W). Focus is on the recent developments and different photophysical and photochemical properties and applications.
