Alginate oligosaccharides (AOS) are crucial carbohydrate-based biomaterial used in the synthesis of potential drugs and biological agents, but their antibacterial activities are not significant. In this study, AOS acylated derivatives were synthesized by grafting maleic anhydride (MA) onto AOS at varying ratios.
