Construction of a caged single-molecule protein with ultra-stability

Spatial isolation of single-molecule proteins is an important topic. In a recent work published in Chem by Makoto Fujita, the precise unimolecular encapsulation of a cutinase-like enzyme within a large molecular cage was demonstrated, with the caged enzyme exhibiting remarkable stability. The stabilization is caused by a protein-refolding effect.
