摘要
The solid-state mechanical properties of clathrate hydrates, including elastic constants, acoustic velocities, thermal expansivity, phonon scattering, and thermal conductivity, are reviewed in this chapter. The techniques summarized include Brillouin light scattering and molecular dynamics simulations. The temperature and pressure dependence of the mechanical properties is determined, and the low-temperature anomalous thermal conductivity of clathrate hydrate phases is discussed in some detail.
