Recently in Angewandte Chemie, Kim and co-workers employed a large Zn-porphyrin paneled cage to activate C60 toward inverse electron-demand Diels-Alder reaction with a tetrazine through precise pre-organization of the reaction partners. Subsequent hydration-induced rearrangement resulted in displacement of the reaction product, enabling catalytic turnover.
