For the ISO-4037 X-ray matched reference fields, the radiometric quantities of the X-ray fields must be verified in order to apply the recommended conversion coefficients stated in the ISO-4037 part 3. To ensure the proper applications, the ISO-4037 X-ray reference fields must be validated following new operational dosimetric quantities defined in the ICRU-95 (released in late 2020). For those reasons, in this work, the first and the second half-value layers ($HVL$) of the ISO-4037 X-ray fields were calculated. Moreover, the conversion coefficients ($h$) to convert from air kerma to ICRU-95 operational dosimetric quantity were investigated for the ISO-4037 X-ray reference fields with various beam qualities. The maximum deviations from the reference $HVL$ values were also deduced, corresponding to 2.0\% changes in $h$ values. The selection of $HVL_1$ or $HVL_2$ in practical measurements were also discussed.
