Marine plastic pollution is a worldwide problem. However, a world without plastics and polymers is unthinkable for most of us. In article number 2001121, Ge-Xia Wang, Jun-Hui Ji, Frederik R. Wurm, and co-workers describe strategies to develop marine-degradable plastics (mainly polyesters and special types of polymer blends), which will help to produce plastic products with predetermined degradation in the marine environment and to prevent further polymer accumulation in the oceans.
