摘要
The goal of smart, green, and interconnected transportation is to increase the competitiveness of the transportation sector and create a resource-efficient, ecologically, and efficient transportation system for the benefit of society. Sustainable and green vehicles will help reduce emissions and provide energy-efficient transportation as a result of sustainable energy. Technologies for transportation with minimal or no emissions can significantly improve the urban environment. When aiming for effective, secure, and green transportation while constructing sustainable and energy-efficient transportation projects, it is imperative to bridge the gap between the transport and energy sectors. Despite being widely established, the linkages between energy and transportation have rarely been thoroughly investigated, and their significance has still not been completely exploited. Gaps exist within the energy and transportation sectors; hence, it is possible that also exist between these two distinct sectors. In view of that, transitioning from conventional vehicles to green vehicles will also be necessary. This chapter critically examines the aspects that should be addressed while developing green transportation for global sustainability. Investigation of novel technology for promoting green transportation systems has been presented. Besides which, limitations and challenges related to present travel needs that are impeding green transportation adoption have been identified.
