Coconut Creek (Florida), ISSN 0749-0208.At present, the existing three-dimensional modeling methods of architectural appearance have some problems, such as slow modeling speed. Therefore, a three-dimensional modeling method of architectural appearance in coastal areas based on digital media technology is proposed. Firstly, the digital map information in coastal areas is analyzed by data media technology in an all-round way. The gray value of the pixels and the gray value of the adjacent pixels are compared by the method of terrain classification, and the type and the object of terrain are judged. Then the two-dimensional basic data representing the geometry of the bottom surface of the object are obtained by using the terrain contour extraction algorithm and the key boundary point extraction algorithm. Finally, the height generation algorithm of the object is designed and implemented by adding two attributes of type and level to the coastal building. Each object is randomly generated a height attribute, which is processed by using the encapsulated digital media technology. 3-D scene editing and roaming are carried out by using 3dsmax class modeling software and skyline class software, so as to realize 3-D modeling of architectural appearance in coastal areas based on digital media technology. The experimental results show that the proposed method is easy to operate, fast to model, and has higher accuracy than previous algorithms.
