Synthesis and properties of two series of heavy metal hexacyanoferrates

Two series of metallic hexacyanoferrate salts have been prepared and their i.r., visible and u.v. spectra investigated in the solid state using potassium bromide as the carrier medium. The i.r. spectra also were investigated using the mull technique. The spectral data are discussed and transition assignments for the observed absorption bands are suggested. X-ray diffraction data are reported for the compounds.
