摘要
A wide range applications of DC-DC boost converter always demanded a control technique with high performance to track the desired output voltage. Amongst all existing control techniques, the Model Predictive Control (MPC) has emerged as a promising solution for power converter control. The flexibility in selection of design parameters of MPC makes it suitable for different applications of boost converter. In this work state space average model of boost converter is taken for the simulation study. The MPC technique which includes PWM modulator is applied on converter model and the performance is compared with Ziegler Nicholas tuned classical PID controller. The voltage tracking by MPC controller is 6 times faster than PID controller. Further the effect of change in different design parameters of MPC on its performance is also presented. The simulation work is performed using MPC toolbox in MATLAB/Simulink platform.
