摘要
A continuously working liquid phase coating and infiltration pilot plant for endless carbon fibers has been developed. It allows the coating of commercially available carbon fibers with Si-based organic precursors in a continuous processing. The fluid coating is followed by a two step thermal treatment process which is carried out in inert atmosphere. First it allows a drying, curing and polymerization of the organometallic precursor and in the second step the pyrolysis to dense inorganic SiC, SiCN or SiBCN layers is performed, thus depending on the chemical composition and kind of precursor used.
