摘要
Developing high-performance cathode material can speed up the commercialization of the SIB technology. Transition metal oxides represent one intriguing class of SIB cathode materials owing to their high specific capacity and suitable working voltage. Over the past years, their cycling stability and rate capability have also been significantly improved. In this chapter, we systematically introduce different transition metal oxides, either Na-containing or not, that have been developed as cathodes for SIBs, with an emphasis on the strategies employed to improve their performance. Besides, some emerging cathode materials, e.g. the metal oxides that show anionic redox reactivity and high-entropy oxides, are also included in the discussion.
