Based on the application demand of measuring human palm's temperature distribution in fixed environment, this paper studied experimentally on influence by the measurement distance on temperature measurement accuracy with a common infrared thermal imager, and tried to improve temperature measurement accuracy. Firstly, on the certain environmental temperature and humidity conditions, the experiments were conducted for temperature measurement accuracy of different measurement distance. The experimental results show that the temperature measurement accuracy is ±0.08℃ at the calibration distance of 66 cm, but the average measurement accuracy is ±0.43℃ at distance from 40cm to 112 cm.Secondly, the further experimental results show that the temperature measurement accuracy can reach ±0.07℃ if calibrated afresh at different measurement distance. This paper provides experimental data to measure temperature of object more precisely in the fixed environment using an infrared thermal imager.
